Art in Bloom276 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s Art in Bloom opened on Friday, organizers and volunteers gathered Friday afternoon to prepare the exhibit. Works by Mary Jane McCoy and Arthur Kvarnstrom will be paired with interpretative floral arrangements by members of the Marion Garden Discussion Group. Art in Bloom runs through July 13. ‘The Secret’276 viewsThe Marion Art Center wrapped up the first session of Artstart with a production of ‘The Secret’ this Friday. The two-week program for children ages four to nine focuses on arts, crafts, music, theater and stories. Program director Nancy Sparklin said the children had great fun and all got along wonderfully. Coastal Explorations II 276 viewsMany thanks to Karen Moore Dourdeville for her excellent presentation to the Coastal Explorations II summer program regarding the sea turtles of Buzzards Bay. The students were able to piece together some of the skeleton of a Loggerhead that washed up in Mattapoisett two years ago.
