Cops for Kids236 viewsOn April 28, Nicholas Claudio and his mother Alison Isherwood received a ‘big check’ for $5,000 from a partnership between Cops for Kids with Cancer and the Mattapoisett Police Officer’s Association. Claudio is a sophomore at ORRHS, an honor role student, and a cancer survivor. Mattapoisett Harbormaster236 viewsMattapoisett Harbormaster Jill Simmons has become a de facto art museum curator since the town acquired prints and photographs that now grace the walls of the tiny harbormaster’s office at Shipyard Park. Local photographer Misty King has several of her pieces on display, along with two pieces by USCG’s artist Michael Mazur. The fundraiser brought groups on three different courses – 13-, 25-, and 48-miles long – winding their way through area towns and making stops at various local ice cream parlors. Although rain was in the forecast all week, the over 150 participants lucked out with only partly cloudy skies. Photos by Colin Veitch
