Tour de Crème174 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust in tandem with the Mattapoisett Bike Path Committee held its first Tour de Crème on Sunday, May 22. The fundraiser brought groups on three different courses – 13-, 25-, and 48-miles long – winding their way through area towns and making stops at various local ice cream parlors. Those who played helped raise an extra $523 the Lions Club will use to benefit the community. Lieutenant Justin Dubois and firefighters Justin Blue, Silas Costa, and Bill Oliver climbed 2,880steps in one hour in full firefighter gear (up to 100 lbs) to raise money for Homes For Our Troops, a nonprofit that builds adaptive homes for injured veterans.
