Bikeway Challenge287 viewsOn Sunday, June 24, the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path hosted their first annual South Coast Bikeway Challenge. Local residents were invited to ride their bikes along the path in order to raise money for the completion of the ongoing project. In addition to the ride, live music was provided and the Mattapoisett Lions Club served lunch. New Year Plunge287 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer.
