Family Fun Festival 296 viewsThe Mattapoisett Lions Club held its first Family Fun Festival at Shipyard Park on Saturday, October 29, featuring some good old-fashioned fun and games. Doggie Walk-A-Thon296 viewsThe Doggie Walk-A-Thon held on August 26 in Mattapoisett village is the brainchild of Freemin Bauer, whose dream is to one day create a dog park in town. Bauer’s dog walk-a-thon last year for his Boy Scout Eagle project raised money to make repairs to the Fairhaven Animal Shelter. This year, he raised money towards a dog park.

Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home.
