Family Fun Festival 323 viewsThe Mattapoisett Lions Club held its first Family Fun Festival at Shipyard Park on Saturday, October 29, featuring some good old-fashioned fun and games. Over 400 people turned out for the event, which included hayrides through the village, a pumpkin patch, and games such as pin the nose on the pumpkin and the corn hole toss. Photos by Jean Perry

Great Community Picnic323 viewsThe Great Community Picnic hosted by the Mattapoisett Land Trust and Historical Museum featured great food, music, and lots of creative expression. One table was tricked out in a Jaws theme while another was filled with ladies wearing hats called “fascinators”. The fourth annual fundraiser was a sold out event. Frozen Princesses323 viewsOn December 21, two princesses visited the Mattapoisett Public Library to read stories and sing songs from the Disney film Frozen. Princesses Elsa and Anna beguiled the children as well as their parents in an hour-long performance culminating in hugs and a photo session. Hampered by the snow and ice they chased the fire through the walls and roof of the house and were eventually able to gain control.
