This year’s weather was a major improvement from last year’s soaking, but overall participation was down this year. Children’s Chorus 211 viewsOn Sunday, May 20, the SouthCoast Children’s Chorus presented their Spring Concert, “Singing Our Dreams” to a jam-packed audience at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Marion. Amy Hartley-Matteson of Mattapoisett and Katherine Hartley of Rochester (2:11:14) won the women’s division for the third consecutive time – the second time they’ve three-peated. Memorial Day 2013211 viewsMemorial Day 2013 offered something for everyone as the Tri-Town came out in droves to remember American veterans who gave their lives. The Sippican School and Old Hammondtown bands performed, while festivities also included parades, speeches, and ceremonies from the American Legion and VFW. Tri-Town Relay for Life211 viewsHundreds of residents attended the Tri-Town Relay for Life last weekend, raising nearly $40,000 for the American Cancer Society. The overnight event included a candlelight vigil for family and friends whose lives were taken by the disease, as well as a celebration for those who have survived it. Photos by Felix Perez.
