Metacomet306 viewsThe bronze sculpture “Metacomet” will be on display at the Mattapoisett Historical Museum for the next few weeks, on loan from artist David Englund. Englund has a penchant for the underdog, saying he chose Metacomet AKA King Phillip as his subject matter because of history’s bias against him. “I knew his history as a warrior and I know he wasn’t given a fair shake by the historians,” said Englund. Make A Difference Expo 306 viewsOn December 29 Miss Massachusetts Jillian Zucco held a Make A Difference Expo at the Knights of Columbus hall. Various volunteer organizations and groups dependent on volunteer participation set up tables and invited the public to learn how they could help. Buzzards Bay Coalition Bike Ride305 viewsOn Sunday, October 14, 147 riders pedaled across southeastern Massachusetts to participate in the 6th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride in order to raise money for the Buzzards Bay Coalition. There were two route options, one 75-mile and one 35-mile course that led riders all throughout the region, including the Tri-Town. The ride raised $68,000 for the organization's initiatives. National Night Out305 viewsThe Tri-Town’s inaugural edition of National Night Out drew a big and enthusiastic crowd on Tuesday. Residents watched the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department’s Ken Ballinger demonstrate K-9 tactics, got a feel for SWAT, EMS, and Fire vehicles; and enjoyed pizza and ice cream.
