Mattapoisett Land Trust Vice President Peter Davies told the Wanderer that the Mattapoisett Museum and the MLT have jointly organized the event for five nonconsecutive years. Early this year, the town’s Community Preservation Committee recommended $28,000 in CPA funds to study the components of the lighthouse’s next renovation, a project that will go out to bid next winter and go before voters at the 2025 Annual Town Meeting. Helen Lozoraitis and Paul Duffy donated the birdhouse kits for the scouts to construct and installed the poles for mounting.
