Harbor Days208 viewsAnother year, another Harbor Days, and another successful effort on behalf of the Mattapoisett Lions Club to raise funds for the good of the community. Mattapoisett Town Oyster Farmer265 viewsBill Mansfield has become the de facto Mattapoisett town oyster farmer, overseeing the town’s oyster farming program since 2014. His efforts coupled with a crew of about 20 other volunteers has taken on the labor-intensive work of rearing young oysters to maturity in Pine Island Pond. When the shellfish beds are open in the fall, recreational license holders will reap the benefits. Photos by Marilou NewellJul 17, 2019
