Locks of Love879 viewsWhile getting a back to school haircut, Camryn McNamara of Mattapoisett recently donated over 13 inches of hair to the charity “Locks of Love.” The organization provides wigs to children suffering from Alopecia or long-term hair loss due to illness. Camryn is a second grader at Center School in Mattpoisett and hopes some of her classmates might think about doing the same. “It made me feel very happy to give someone my hair who doesn’t have any,” she said.

Road Race Scholars944 viewsOn August 3 in Mattapoisett’s Shipyard Park, seven ORR High School graduates and runners each received a $1,000 scholarship award from the proceeds of the Mattapoisett Road Race held on July 4.
