Marine Becket Kiernan38 viewsOn Friday, February 16, Class of 2017 ORR graduate and 18-year-old Marine Becket Kiernan was laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. All of Old Rochester lined the side of Route 6 for a final farewell to Becket as Principal Mike Devoll stood solemnly as the procession passed beneath the giant U.S. flag suspended by two local ladder trucks. Fire and police from all three towns lined the opposite side of the street to pay their respects. Photos by Jean Perry

Various volunteer organizations and groups dependent on volunteer participation set up tables and invited the public to learn how they could help. Outside in the parking lot Boston Children' Hospital mobile blood donation van with the slogan “give pints for half pints,” saw a steady flow of people throughout the day. Photos by Marilou Newell
