The Coast Guard, in cooperation with the North Carolina Resources Commission, helped release a total of 19 rehabilitated sea turtles into the Gulf Stream off the coast of North Carolina including Kemp’s ridley sea turtles, green sea turtles and a loggerhead sea turtle.

Mattapoisett Lion’s Club Peace Poster Contest12 viewsIn November the Mattapoisett Lion’s Club held a Peace Poster contest at Old Hammondtown School for the 6th graders. There were 80 participants this year! This years’ theme was “Love, Peace and Understanding”. The winners were: First Place: Spencer Perez-Dormintzer; 2nd Place Kayli Viera; 3rd Place: Maggie Berry & Andrews.
