The Eagle Has Landed183 viewsMarion resident Hope Vary was “blown away” to see a bald eagle perched in the trees above her 2010 Labor Day cookout. It was an appropriate send-off to summer, before Old Rochester schools started back up on September 1. Photos by Felix Perez. September 2, 2010 edition
Yee Haw, Maw!174 viewsRochester’s Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. Eeeeeeee164 viewsEastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) is on everyone’s minds this week as the state grapples with how to address the high levels of EEE found in mosquito samples. The Mattapoisett, Marion and Rochester Boards of Health canceled all evening activities on town grounds, and announced 6:00 pm closures of ball parks, playgrounds and town beaches as a result of what the state is calling a public health threat.
