Volunteers at Sippican Elementary77 viewsVolunteers at Sippican Elementary (VASE) hosted their fourth Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser last week. VASE works with Booster, a company that helps raise funds for enrichment activities such as in-school performances, field trips and afterschool programs. Students reached out to friends, family and businesses across 30 states and 7 countries; 87 percent of the student body registered with 79 percent earning donations for Sippican.

The Warriors earned their spot in the championship game with a big, 10-2 victory over the Heat, while the Knicks advanced to the title game, narrowly edging the Celtics, 10-8. Vegan115 viewsTo vegan or not to vegan? That was the question taste testers answered when the Mattapoisett Library hosted another chapter of their sustainable initiative programming on February 26. Library Director Jennifer Jones prepared and served vegan substitutes of chicken, hot dogs, sausage, and lunchmeat. The participants nibbled each offering with great anticipation.
