Longtime Mattapoisett resident, Mercedes May Murolo poses with her brother and part-time Mattapoisett resident, Fred Murolo, after successfully finishing a beautiful marathon through the giant redwood trees in California, a few hours north of Mercy’s new home in Sonoma County. In The Avenue of the Giants Marathon, Mercy came in third in her class, Fred fourth in his, and both qualified for Boston in April. The two plan on running in the Mattapoisett Fourth of July Road Race.
